BF Series

These foil gauges are specifically designed for use on composite materials and have a specially designed grid pattern to minimise the stiffening effect. Take special care aligning your gauge on composite materials as the properties can be anisotropic, with a dependency on the fibre direction and lay-up, which results in a different elastic modulus and linear thermal expansion coefficient as the strain measurement direction / gauge orientation is changed. These gauges can be used up to 200°C.
